Banker
One banker a hole — everyone else plays them one-on-one
The game in 20 seconds
On every hole one golfer is the banker, and everyone else plays the banker one-on-one for their own bet. Low score wins each match; a tie pushes.
You can double your bet, and the banker can double every bet back — so one match can be worth 4× the bet.
Who banks
- 3 or 4 players. Play it as your main game or add it to another. Added mid-round, it starts on the hole you're on.
- Hole 1: toss a tee. The app asks who banks — toss a real tee and tap who it points at, or tap Toss a tee and let the app pick. The app's toss is final.
- After that, the low score banks the next hole — net in a net round, gross in a gross round. The banker always tees off last.
- Tie for low? If the banker is in it, the bank stays. If not, toss a tee between the tied golfers — every phone lands on the same one.
- Rotates (option) — the bank goes round the group in order, starting from the tossed banker.
- To hand a hole's bank to someone else, tap their name on the Banker card — not after a toss or the banker's double.
Scoring a hole
- Pick your bet, from the smallest to the biggest. Every hole starts at the smallest.
- Bets open once the banker is known — on hole 1 after the tee toss, then once the hole before is in. Nobody bets or doubles on a guess.
- Confirm holes in order. Each hole's low score picks the next banker, so the app takes your score on a hole only once your score on the hole before is in.
- Double your own bet after your tee shot, before the banker hits.
- The banker hits last, then can double every bet on the hole.
- Low score wins each match, a tie pushes. The banker wins or loses each one separately.
- Your bet locks when you confirm your score — the banker's double too. A score typed in by mistake locks nothing until it's confirmed.
Bets go in on the Banker card on the Score screen, or the 🏦 chip on the GPS map. Nothing pops up over the map — tap the chip back at the cart after the tee shots: your bet and Double my bet, or for the banker, everyone's bets and Double every bet.
Hole 1 · par 4 — Mike banksNate bets 2 and doubles → 4. Greg bets 1. Tyler bets 3.
Mike makes 4. Nate 5 loses 4, Greg 4 pushes, Tyler 3 wins 3.
Mike is up 1 on the hole.
The banker's double
Two taps (×2, then Final? Tap again), and it's final: every bet and double on the hole locks. Nobody doubles after the banker, so 4× is the most a match can be.
Hole 2 · par 4 — Tyler banks (a 3 was low)Nate bets 2 and doubles; Greg bets 2; Mike 1. Tyler doubles every bet: Nate's is now 8, Greg's 4, Mike's 2.
Tyler makes 5. Nate 4 wins 8, Greg 6 loses 4, Mike 5 pushes. Tyler is down 4.
Ties for low
Hole 3 · par 3 — Nate banks (a 4 was low)All bets at 1. Nate 3, Greg 3, Tyler 3, Mike 4 → Mike loses 1, the others push.
Nate tied for low, so Nate keeps the bank.
Hole 4 · par 4 — Nate banksGreg bets 2, Mike 2, Tyler 1. Greg 4, Mike 4, Nate 5, Tyler 5 → Greg and Mike win 2 each, Tyler pushes.
Greg and Mike tied for low without Nate → toss a tee between them for hole 5.
Handicaps
Play it net and every player gets their full course handicap — one stroke a hole on the hardest holes first, by the card's stroke index. The best player gets his strokes too. Every match is played on net scores, and the bank moves on net too: the low net score banks the next hole.
Hole 1 · par 4, net — Nate banksTyler gets a stroke here and bets 2. Nate 4, Tyler 4 for a net 3 → Tyler wins 2 (gross, a push).
Hole 2's banker: Tyler's net 3 is the low score, so Tyler banks hole 2. In a gross round their 4s tie and Nate keeps it.
Course handicaps come from each player's index and tees, at the group's handicap allowance (100% unless you change it in setup).
💰The money
Every bet is between one golfer and that hole's banker, so your total is what you won and lost in your own matches. Bets are points, at the group's price per point.
After those four holes, at $1 a pointNate −4 +8 +1 −4 = +$1. Greg −$2. Mike +$2. Tyler −$1.
The biggest one-on-one: Tyler owes Nate $8 from hole 2.
Settle lists every one-on-one balance; stacked with other games, it all folds into one payout. Battle Tees never touches the money.
Options in Battle Tees
- Players in the game — 3 or 4, on its card when it's your main game; as a side game it follows the group.
- Smallest bet — 1, and never below 1.
- Biggest bet — 5, up to 100.
- Banker — Low score (the low score banks the next hole — net in a net round), or Rotates.
Set them before the first hole; they stay for the round. Every phone in the group plays with the same settings.
⚡How to win it
- Banking, you're in every match. A solid par beats most of the field — leave the hero shots to them.
- Double on your own ball. You double before the banker hits, so do it when your drive finds the fairway.
- As banker, you see every drive first. Double when they're in trouble — it doubles the doubled bets too, and it can't be taken back.
- A tie keeps the bank. Holding it, a par that ties for low is as good as a win.
