Privacy Policy
Battle Tees is made by Vexcom LLC, Vacaville, California. Effective September 5, 2026. This policy covers the web app at battletees.app and the Battle Tees apps for iPhone and Android.
The short version
Battle Tees keeps your golf rounds, shares them with the people you play with, and uses your phone's location to show yardages on the course. We do not sell your data, we do not show ads, and we do not use third-party advertising or analytics trackers.
What we collect
- Your profile: the name you enter, your handicap index, your email address if you add one, and an optional photo.
- Your play: scores, side-game results, fairways, greens, putts and other stats you enter, the clubs in your bag, personal challenges, and the positions of shots you choose to track.
- Location: your phone's precise location while you use the GPS map or track a shot. It is used on your phone to compute yardages. A tracked shot's start and end points, and the tee and green marks you make on an unmapped hole, are saved with the round or the course.
- Device and usage: an anonymous device identifier created by the app, the name on your profile, the app version, your phone's operating system version, how you installed the app, and which screens and features you use. We use this to see what works and fix what breaks.
Where it goes
- Our relay server syncs a shared round between the phones in your group, keeps your backup (tied to your email) so you can restore on a new phone, and keeps a handicap record from your rounds. It is operated by Vexcom LLC in the United States.
- People you play with see the scores, stats and tracked shots in a shared round. When you announce a round, your Battle friends (people you have shared a round with before) can watch it hole by hole on the Community Battlefield, including your position on the course during that round.
- Email: we send round announcements, backup and sign-in messages through Resend, an email delivery service. You can turn announcement emails off in Settings › Battlefield.
- Maps and weather: the map loads satellite imagery from Esri and course data derived from OpenStreetMap, and the wind feature asks the U.S. National Weather Service for the forecast at the course. Those requests go from your phone to those services and, like any web request, reveal your IP address and the area you are looking at.
- The Android app checks that it is a genuine, unmodified copy using Google Play Integrity. That check is handled by Google and does not include your name, email or play data. While a round is in progress the Android app keeps a notification on screen so location can continue with the screen off.
What we do not do
- We do not sell, rent or trade your information.
- We do not show advertising and do not use advertising identifiers.
- We do not collect location when you are not using the app in a round.
How long we keep it
Your rounds, backup and handicap record stay until you delete them. Settings › Start Over erases this phone's library and replaces your cloud backup with an empty one. A round on the Community Battlefield stays as long as any player in it keeps it. To have everything tied to your email removed from our server, follow the steps on Delete your data.
Children
Battle Tees is not directed to children under 13 and we do not knowingly collect information from them.
Changes
If this policy changes we will update this page and the date at the top.
