Snake
Side game — last one to 3-putt pays everyone
The game in 20 seconds
Every 3-putt takes the snake. It moves to whoever 3-putted last, and every 3-putt in the group makes it worth one more point. Whoever has it after the last hole pays every other player what it's worth.
It's a side game: it rides on top of your main game and runs off the putts you already answer after each hole.
Who plays
- 2 to 4 players — everyone in the main game is in it.
- Side game only. Add it to any main game in setup, or mid-round with Choose Game(s). Picked up mid-round, it counts from that hole on.
- Nothing to settle on the first tee — nobody has the snake until somebody 3-putts.
Scoring a hole
- Answer your putts. After each hole the putts sheet asks every snake player: 0, 1, 2, 3 or 4+. With Snake on there's no Not this hole — everybody answers.
- 3 or more putts takes the snake, from whoever had it. Four putts count too.
- Every 3-putt adds a point to what it's worth — anyone's, not just the holder's.
- No 3-putt? Nothing moves.
Holes 1–3Hole 1: everybody two-putts — nobody has it.
Hole 2: Greg 3-putts → Greg has the snake, worth 1.
Hole 3: Mike 3-putts → it moves to Mike, worth 2.
Two 3-putts on one hole
The one who holed out last takes it. Tap their name on the Snake card on the Score screen (or in Standings). Until somebody taps, it sits with the one who had more putts, then the higher score. Both 3-putts add to what it's worth.
Hole 4 · par 4Nate makes a 6 and Tyler a 5 — both 3-putt. Tyler holed out last.
Until someone taps, it sits with Nate (same putts, higher score). Tap Tyler → Tyler has it, worth 4.
Nobody 3-putts all day? The snake pays nothing.
Handicaps
None. A 3-putt is a 3-putt — the snake is the same in a net game and a gross one.
💰The money
The holder pays each other player the snake's worth, at the group's price per point. Nobody else pays anybody.
Say nobody 3-putts after hole 4, at $1 a pointTyler has it, worth 4.
Tyler pays Nate, Greg and Mike $4 each — $12 in all.
With Grows off it's worth 1: $1 each.
Set the price in $ per pt on the Snake card under Settle up on the Standings screen. Battle Tees shows who owes whom; it never touches the money.
Options in Battle Tees
- Grows with every 3-putt — On. Off makes it a flat 1 point however many 3-putts there are.
Set it before the first hole; it stays for the round. Every phone in the group plays with the same setting.
⚡How to win it
- Speed, not line. A two-putt is all you need — lag the long ones to tap-in range.
- It gets heavier all day. With Grows on, the last few greens are where the snake hurts most.
- Hole out first. When two of you are looking at a third putt, the last one in takes it.
- The only way out is someone else's 3-putt. Holding it on 15, just two-putt and wait.
